Abu Dhabi, October 15, 2003: -- GE Power Systems, a major exhibitor at the annual Power-Gen Middle East conference and exhibition in Abu Dhabi, has showcased its latest technology for the region's power industry. The main focus of GE's participation in the energy expo included a broad range of energy solutions including models of its F family of gas turbines and clean energy solutions such as wind energy.
GE Wind Energy, a division of GE Power Systems, has highlighted its wind turbine technology, geared to meet customers' on-shore and off-shore wind power needs. In addition, the Frame 9FB, the world's most advanced air-cooled 50-hertz gas turbine, as well as the Frame 6C was featured in the company's product offering.
Commenting on GE's participation at the annual power expo, Nabil Habayeb, Regional Executive General Manager for GE Power Systems - Africa, India, and the Middle East said: "Our participation in Power-Gen was vital in emphasising our strong regional presence and leadership in the power and energy industry - we are offering the most comprehensive selection of leading-edge, advanced technology products and services to serve the full spectrum of this industry."
GE's range of turbine technology, both gas and steam, alongside generators, are customised for various applications in the region's energy industry sector, including oil and gas, power generation, water production and electricity generation.
In addition to showcasing its products and services, GE Power Systems focused on the latest advances and developments at the conference running concurrently with the exhibition, with presentations from internationally acknowledged GE specialists, including the Frame 9FB technology, wind energy and optimisation of power and water production.
"Our wide base of customers relying on GE steam and gas turbines, energy management and plant automation systems, and oil and gas equipment benefited from learning the very latest technology and developments within the energy industry," added Ehab Younis, Field Marketing Development Manager, GE Power Systems.
The full range of gas compression and turbo-generation products and services, as well as energy rentals and plant assessment management systems, including software and engineering services for machinery monitoring and diagnostics, were also highlighted at the exhibition stand.
