Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia; June 26, 2007: GE Oil & Gas put the spotlight on emerging technologies at the 'State-of-the-art Seminar' held in Al Khobar. The seminar showcased the latest trends in oil and gas technologies and upgrades and was attended by over 70 industry professionals.
The highlights of the seminar included in-depth presentations on: compression technology for sour and acid gas re-injection applications; latest developments on pumps; heavy duty gas turbine technology for power generation; aero-derivative gas turbine advancements; pipeline integrity management systems; and solutions for upgrading existing plants and equipment. The seminar also featured an overview of GE's most recent acquisition, VetcoGray - a company that specializes in upstream drilling and production technology for the onshore, offshore and subsea oil and gas industry, and which is now part of the GE's Oil & Gas business.
Michael Bellamy, General Manager Marketing, GE Oil & Gas, said in his opening address that the topics addressed by the seminar hold great relevance for the oil and gas industry in the Middle East. "The seminar was carefully structured to ensure that participants got an overview of emerging technologies from GE, which will in turn help them to enhance their production and operational efficiency," commented Bellamy.
