GE Network Solutions Wins Contract from Nebraska Public Power District

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (January 29, 2003) --- GE Network Solutions, a leading supplier of innovative technology solutions to the utilities industry, has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract by the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) in Columbus, Nebraska, for the implementation of GE Network Solutions' Smallworld Core Spatial Technology™ software.
NPPD, Nebraska's largest electric utility, works in partnership with the state's rural public power districts, cooperatives and municipalities to provide retail or wholesale electric power to about 800,000 citizens. GE Network Solutions' Smallworld Core Spatial Technology software will provide NPPD with an end-to-end network management solution to controlling its power assets and operations throughout its statewide service territory.
The Smallworld Core Spatial Technology software provides scalable, extensible and open solutions that integrate with existing business systems to control spatial data. For the NPPD project, GE Network Solutions will implement a complete solution for geographic information systems, engineering management and outage management using a suite of Smallworld products, including its Smallworld PowerOn
