FAIRFIELD, Conn.--May 5, 2004--GE today announced the appointment of Edmundo Vallejo, 46, as a company officer.
Vallejo will run the newly created Latin America region, which combines Mexico, Central America and South America. He will report to Nani Beccalli, President & CEO, Europe, Middle East & Africa, who will add responsibility for this region to his current role.
Vallejo has been President and CEO of GE Mexico since January 2001. Previously, he held various roles at GE Advanced Materials and GE Capital in both Mexico and the United States. He joined GE as a Business Development Manager for GE Mexico in 1991.
Before coming to GE, Vallejo worked for Procter & Gamble, Industrias Resistol and Raychem Corporation. He holds an MBA from Harvard and a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Vallejo graduated from the Universidad Metropolitana in Mexico City with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
