GE Names Todd Dickinson Vice President,Chief Intellectual Property Counsel

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2004--GE has named Todd Dickinson, 51, vice president and chief intellectual property counsel. In this newly established position Dickinson will report to Brackett Denniston, GE Vice President and General Counsel, and Scott Donnelly, GE Senior Vice President, Global Research.
Dickinson has been a partner in the law firm of Howrey Simon Arnold & White, where he has helped lead the Intellectual Property Practice Group, focusing on counseling, licensing, prosecution, strategic portfolio management and government relations issues involving intellectual property.

Todd previously served as the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In that role, he served as both Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the principal Executive Branch policy advisor on intellectual property matters. He has more than 25 years experience as an intellectual property lawyer and has written and taught extensively on all aspects of intellectual property law. Todd is a graduate of Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
