GE Names Janki Vice President, Corporate Investor Communications; Cary Promoted to CEO of GE Consumer Finance - Europe

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 6, 2006--GE (NYSE:GE) named Daniel Janki, 37, vice president of Corporate Investor Communications. He will begin in his new role effective March 1, 2006.

Janki, currently CFO for GE Consumer Finance - Americas, succeeds William Cary, who has been promoted to the position of president and CEO of GE Consumer Finance - Europe. Janki will report to Chief Financial Officer Keith Sherin.

"Dan has a strong global view of GE, having served in leadership positions in our financial services businesses and at corporate," Sherin said. "Dan understands our businesses well and knows our markets. He's a strong communicator, and will do a great job keeping our analysts and investors informed."

Janki began his career with GE in 1992 in the Financial Management Program and joined the GE Audit staff. In 1999, he moved to the GE Capital "e-business" team as a finance manager. He later served as chief financial officer of GE Equity and on the corporate staff of former Vice Chairman Dennis Dammerman.

Janki holds a bachelor of finance and accounting degree from Ohio State University.

Cary will begin to transition his responsibilities and start in his new role at Consumer Finance on March 1, 2006.
