GE Manufacturing Technology Center organizes three-day blood donation campaign in Dammam

Dammam, Saudi Arabia; February 18, 2013: GE Manufacturing Technology Center, the most advanced technology center of its kind by GE (NYSE: GE) featuring a modern manufacturing facility and training center, organized a three-day blood donation campaign at its premises in the 2nd Industrial City.

A part of the corporate social responsibility commitment of GE in the Kingdom, the blood donation campaign was attended by 51 employees of the company who voluntarily took part in the noble initiative.

The blood donation campaign, organised in partnership with the King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam, complements the Kingdom's goal of maintaining sufficient stocks of blood at the government hospitals to meet emergency requirements.

Medial professional from King Fahad Specialist Hospital conducted the blood donation program as per the highest safety standards.

GE Manufacturing Technology Center, now in its second year of operation, was recently expanded as part of GE's US$1 billion investment in the Kingdom. In its first year, the Center served more than 50 customers in the Kingdom, the Middle East, Africa and Europe, and extended service support to drive the efficiencies of over 450 gas turbines that are central to power generation.

The Center features five key components: a modern manufacturing facility of high end equipment for the power, water and oil & gas industries; a service and repair center for advanced turbine equipment; a training center that offers the latest technology and managerial courses for college students, field engineers and other power industry professionals throughout the region; a Research & Development Center; and a state-of-the-art high-speed balance facility.
