Dubai, March 13, 2003 -- GE Power Systems (GEPS), one of the world's leading suppliers of power generation technology, energy services, and management systems across the power and oil and gas industries, has introduced new technological advances for the Middle East market.
With an emphasis on a cleaner environment, GEPS highlighted its specialised products for efficient water and fuel management, in addition to air emission monitoring and data acquisition systems at WETEX 2003 this week. The new energy management and water treatment technologies were unveiled at the annual water, energy and environment technologies exhibition and conference.
Commenting on GE's participation in WETEX, Nabil Habayeb, Regional Executive and General Manager for GEPS - Africa, India, and the Middle East said: "We see WETEX as the ideal opportunity to display GEPS' product portfolio, which includes the world's most comprehensive selection of leading edge, advanced technology products and services for the full spectrum of the energy industry, from wellhead to consumer. At WETEX, GEPS showcased an array of products and services offered by its various divisions including GE Water Technologies, GE Wind Energy and GE Energy Services (comprising GE Network Solutions, Substation Automation Solutions, GE Optimisation Services and GE Energy Rentals).
GE presented its air emission testing and monitoring systems used at electric utilities, waste incinerators and industrial plants, a new offering following GE Energy Services' acquisition of KVB Enertec. CEMSCANTM is GE's modular approach to Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems and offers an efficient monitoring solution with a complete hardware and software system that is simple to maintain and easy to upgrade.

GE Energy Rentals highlighted, among its product range, the TM2500 "Power Plant on Wheels," capable of generating nearly 23 megawatts of electrical power for a multitude of applications, including emergency, standby and continuous duty power requirements, operating on natural gas or liquid fuels.
GE also featured a range of high-tech products from GE Betz, global specialists in engineered solutions for chemical treatment of water, process and fuel management systems for a wealth of industrial applications including power generation. GE Wind Energy, a new addition to GEPS' portfolio and geared to meet customers' on-shore and offshore wind power needs, also showcased its product offering at the GEPS stand.

Furthermore, at WETEX, GEPS highlighted its new range of products and services from its broad portfolio of optimisation services, transmission and distribution offerings, covering power plant optimisation and substation automation, in addition to monitoring and diagnostics from Bently Nevada, a GEPS group company.
GE Network Solutions and Substation Automation Solutions featured its Smallworld Geographical Information Systems (GIS), which provides increased efficiency and accuracy for electric utilities.
