GE Industrial Solutions brings innovative technologies that protect and manage distribution of electricity

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; May 29, 2013: GE Industrial Solutions (NYSE: GE), focused on creating innovative, end-to-end product and service solutions for efficient electrical infrastructure, has expanded its partnership with SESCO to distribute high-end electrical products and services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A leading distributor of electrical, mechanical, industrial, valves, instrumentation, automation, flow control, maintenance repair and operating (MRO) products in the Middle East, SESCO will now showcase the most advanced and diverse range of GE Industrial Solutions (GEIS) products and services, which ensure the reliability and protection of the electrical infrastructure - from the substation, to a facility's critical equipment, and all the power technologies in between.

At a ceremony held at JW Marriott Hotel, senior officials of GEIS and SESCO announced the expanded partnership. The event was attended by leading electrical consultants in the Kingdom, heads of procurement departments, and various stakeholders in the electrification sector.

Hisham Albahkali, President and CEO of GE Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, said: "The driving force of GE's operations in the Kingdom, over the past 80 years, is our partnerships with established entities. We are honored to strengthen our partnership with SESCO, which has strong credentials in the distribution of diverse products, services and components for the electricity sector. Through SESCO, GE will bring advanced technologies that will not only strengthen the electricity infrastructure for projects of varying size and scale, but also help meet the challenges of the Kingdom in addressing the growing demand for electricity."

He added: "GE Industrial Solutions invests in innovative ideas and commit to technologies that create a cleaner, smarter and more efficient electrical infrastructure. Customers in Saudi Arabia will now have greater access to the highest breadth of electrical distribution and protection components. We will bring the full portfolio from our four business units -- power equipment, services, critical power and power components."

Eng. Abdullah Alkuhaimi, General Manager of SESCO said: "As the leader in providing electrical infrastructure products and solutions, SESCO focuses on delivering the highest quality and safety. By expanding our long-term partnership with GE Industrial Solutions, we will offer our customers access to the highest quality and most-modern electrical products and solutions that meet their needs to promote efficiency and safety. We will leverage our long heritage in the Kingdom and international experience to bring cutting edge solutions for our customers."

The GE Industrial Solutions' story starts 130 years ago with GE's founder, Thomas Edison. Today, Industrial Solutions' engineers and employees embody his entrepreneurial spirit to create innovative, end-to-end product and service solutions.

GEIS supports electrical infrastructure for sectors including healthcare, oil & gas, telecom, mining, commercial construction, data centres, and priority industries. The product range includes medium voltage and low voltage equipment including switchgear, panel boards, motor control centers; power delivery equipment such as transformers and low and medium-voltage busway; industrial circuit breakers; dry type transformers; load centres; electrical vehicle service equipment; UPS systems, and power switching solutions among others. The company also offers a wide range of services including emergency, inspection, maintenance, power delivery and safety and remote and on-site monitoring.

From supporting Saudi Arabia's first oil discovery expedition with turbo machinery equipment for the first refinery to currently serving as a trusted partner bringing advanced healthcare, clean water, electricity and transportation to the Saudi people, GE has been a major player in the Kingdom for over eight decades. Today, with three offices and seven facilities Saudi Arabia accounts for the largest GE workforce in the Middle East with over 1,000 employees driving the healthcare, transportation, power, oil & gas, water and aviation businesses. More than 500 GE turbines currently generate over 50 percent of Saudi's electricity, and the company's advanced technology supports the production of 150 million liters clean water daily, delivered to the country's remotest corners.

GE also has strong competencies globally in smart grids, a key area of interest for the Kingdom, by covering the entire gamut from power generation optimization to renewable integration, distributed generation management, micro-grids, protection and control, grid diagnostics and visualization, among others.
