Erbil, Iraq; December 15, 2009: General Electric Company (GE) has hosted the first of its kind Technology Day in Iraq to highlight its integrated solutions to Iraqi customers at a one-day event held in Erbil.
The event served to introduce the attendees to GE's capabilities to increase their systems' productivity through the use of solutions such as sensors and non-destructive testing, security and life safety technologies, power system protection and control, and plant automation and embedded computing systems.
About 75 key management personnel representing the oil & gas sector, major utilities, manufacturing and the automotive industry from private and public sectors attended.
Among attendees were Iraq's Oil Ministry Companies, the Ministry of Electricity, Ministry of State for National Security Affairs, Heavy Engineering Equipment State Company, State Company for Petrochemical Industries, Rashid Bank and State Company for Southern Fertilizers.
Isam Moursy, General Manager, GE Digital Energy, Middle East & Africa said: "The Technology Day highlighted our commitment to strengthening our partnerships with Iraqi businesses.
