Dammam, Saudi Arabia; October 1, 2012: GE (NYSE: GE) honoured student Trainees from Technical & Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) who completed their training program at the GE Manufacturing Technology Center in Dammam. This is part of a strategic agreement with TVTC to train 100 students annually at the Center.
TVTC Governor H.E. Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis and GE's Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Immelt honored the graduates at the ground-breaking ceremony of the second phase expansion of GE Manufacturing Technology Center today.
More than 130 students have trained under the partnership agreement between GE and TVTC, an initiative aimed at building a talent pool of Saudi technologists for the energy sector. This complements the Saudi Vision 2020 to promote human capital development and drive job creation. The students were trained in the maintenance and repair of gas turbines, electrical motors and generators.
