FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 2003--General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) will hold its 2004 Annual Meeting of Share Owners on April 28, 2004 in Louisville, Kentucky.
The meeting will be held in downtown Louisville at the Kentucky Convention Center. The meeting officially begins at 10 a.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m.
GE holds its Annual Meeting of Share Owners each year in a location where it has significant business interests. GE has about 7,600 employees in Kentucky. The headquarters for GE Consumer and Industrial is located in Louisville and will serve as the host business for the share owner meeting. GE Consumer and Industrial has other significant operations in Kentucky including a motors plant in Owensboro, and three lamp facilities in Somerset and Lexington. Kentucky is also home to a GE Transportation plant in Madisonville that produces turbine blades and vanes for jet engines, as well as GE Equipment Management - Information Technology Solutions in Erlanger, which is one of the world's largest providers of PC-based networking systems.
GE's Annual Meeting gives share owners the opportunity to elect directors of the Company for the coming year and to vote on proposals set forth in the proxy statement. The proxy will be distributed in March 2003.
