FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2002--General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) will hold its 2003 Annual Meeting of Share Owners on April 23 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The meeting will be held at the Charlotte Convention Center at 10 a.m.
GE holds its Annual Meeting of Share Owners each year in a location where it has significant business interests. GE has about 5,600 employees in North Carolina. GE Plastics Americas' Customer Center and Logistics Operation, also the headquarters for GE Polymershapes, is located just north of Charlotte in Huntersville and will serve as the host business for the share owner meeting. Also in Huntersville is the headquarters for GE Sealants and Adhesives. Charlotte is home to NBC News Channel, a newsgathering organization for all NBC affiliate stations, as well as customer service centers for GE Industrial Systems and GE Consumer Finance.
GE's Annual Meeting gives share owners the opportunity to elect directors of the Company for the coming year and to vote on proposals set forth in the proxy statement. The proxy will be distributed in March 2003.
