GE Highlights Latest Technological Advancements at Sixth Saudi Engineering Conference; Leading Technology Provider Exhibits Multi-industry Products at Triennial Engineering Assembly

Jeddah, December 28, 2002 ---- General Electric, a major exhibitor at the Sixth Saudi Engineering Conference organised by King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, showcased latest engineering technologies from several of its businesses including GE Power Systems, GE Medical Systems, GE Aircraft Engines and GE Industrial Systems.

Held in Dhahran last week (December 14 -17), under the patronage of HRH the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, the engineering conference forms the largest gathering of engineers within the Kingdom.

At the forum, which provides a unique opportunity to exchange views on challenges facing the engineering field and education, GE exhibited its engineering capabilities in industries ranging from healthcare and aviation to power generation, oil and gas, energy management and engineering services. A selection of the major technology provider's engineered products was demonstrated to engineering professionals, reiterating the diversity of the company's products and services offering.

Besides featuring an engineering exhibition, the specialised conference provided the opportunity for educators and researchers to present 240 technical papers addressing various engineering-related topics including engineering practices, education, environment, waste management, architecture, IT, and industrial development.
