Dubai, UAE; September 26, 2011: GE Healthcare is underlining the need for earlier diagnosis for more efficient treatment and better management of chronic diseases at the Arabian Public Health Forum to be held on September 26 and 27, 2011 at Yas Island Rotana, Abu Dhabi.
The rising incidence of chronic, non-communicable diseases is one of the key challenges faced by the Arab world. Managing the diseases such as obesity, diabetes, stress-related cardiovascular diseases and certain forms of cancer is also putting a severe strain on government budgets with a recent report* highlighting that the major portion of healthcare expenditure in the region is borne by the governments.
GE is emphasizing on its healthymagination commitment aimed at increasing access for quality healthcare to a larger population at lower costs through its partnership with the Arabian Public Health Forum as its Silver Sponsor. The forum is organised by MEED Events with the support of the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD), Abu Dhabi Health services (SEHA), Emirates Nursing Association (ENA) and Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).
