GE Healthcare Sponsors the Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Training for Vietnam Clinicians

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam -- June 29th, 2013 -- GE Healthcare, a unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), today supported FV Hospital to organize a training seminar "New clinical advances in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in body scanning and neuroimaging" at FV Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City. The aim of the seminar was to provide local doctors with practical materials in terms of clinical and academic radiology, along with the latest information on diagnostic imaging and future trends in cancer treatment around the world.

Guest speakers from Singapore were invited to give lectures on topics such as imaging diagnosis for cancer, stroke neuroimaging, and the role of MRI in the diagnosis of prostate cancer and rectal cancer. In the seminar, GE Healthcare also introduced MRI technology that offers significant clinical advantages for both local doctors and patients. GE has been putting its full weight behind cancer treatment research offering advanced medical technology that helps doctors diagnose and treat on a molecular level.

Mr. Travis Monke, GE Healthcare's general manager for MRI in Southeast Asia, shared: "We are pleased to have been sponsoring a series of advanced training seminars in diagnostic imaging for Vietnamese doctors. At the seminar, doctors, physicians, medical equipment distributors were able to witness the latest methodology on how to enhance the effectiveness of image diagnose. These include insight on how to optimize scans in difficult cases, guideline recommendations for cancer imaging, as well as staging and treatment response assessment of cancer.

The seminar is part of GE's healthymagination(1) commitment to changing the way of approaching healthcare to address three critical needs, which are improving the quality of healthcare, touching more people and lowering costs in Vietnam.
