Dubai, UAE; January 26, 2012: GE Healthcare, the healthcare business of GE (NYSE: GE), today, announced the signing of an agreement with Gardens Hospital in Jordan to supply advanced diagnostic and healthcare equipment.
Elie Chahoud, GE Healthcare's General Manager for Levant, and Dr. Fayez Abu Ihmedan, President of Gardens Hospital, announced the partnership at Arab Health 2012, where GE is showcasing its full breadth of advanced medical technologies.
According to the agreement, GE Healthcare will provide its latest Optima™ MR360 1.5 tesla that can help improve imaging productivity; and the high-performance Innova IGS 530 interventional x-ray platform, which is the next step forward in single-plane digital imaging. Both these advanced products are also on display at Arab Health 2012.
Last year, Gardens Hospital purchased a variety of systems from GE Healthcare including an Optima 660 CT 64 slices, Definium 6000 X-ray, fluoroscopy precision RXI, mammo systems and a wide range of ultrasound, monitors, ventilators and incubators, among others.

The 150-bed hospital is being developed in Amman and civil work is progressing. The hospital will be a value addition to the private sector healthcare delivery in Jordan.

It is a high performance system that uses an uncompromised magnet with a 48-cm field of view.
