* New Volume Navigation combines benefits of Diagnostic Imaging Modalities for Radiology and Vascular Care
* Introduces Touchscreen Technology to LOGIQ e Compact Ultrasound
Dubai, UAE; January 28, 2009: GE Healthcare is showcasing its latest ultrasound systems at Arab Health 2009, ongoing at the Dubai International Convention Centre. GE's new diagnostic product lines are designed and engineered to address specific and varied needs of healthcare providers in line with GE's 'Early Health' prevention and pre-symptomatic disease detection initiative.
Hisham Youssef, General Manager Ultrasound, Middle East, Africa & Turkey of GE Healthcare said: "We are excited to highlight these new ultrasound technologies at Arab Health this year. We worked closely with a global team of radiologists and sonographers to develop our new ultrasound architecture, giving clinicians the advantages of imaging modalities - MR, CT and PET -- and it is already reigniting the imagination of the ultrasound industry. GE Healthcare's ultrasound objective is to bring quality images, better workflow, and innovative tools to clinicians."
Primary among these products is the new ultrasound system for radiology and vascular applications that fuses ultrasound images with images from other imaging modalities like CT and MR - the LOGIQ® E9; and the LOGIQ e Breakthrough 2009,the first ultrasound system to combine real-time clinical images and control capabilities on the same touchscreen user interface.
LOGIQ® E9
The new LOGIQ® E9 includes Volume Navigation, an innovative tool which incorporates two key components to maximize the system's new agile ultrasound architecture: 'Fusion' to combine the advantages of real-time ultrasound imaging with the high spatial and contrast resolution of CT, MR or PET and a 'GPS-like technology' to track and mark a patient's anatomy during the ultrasound exam, bringing confidence and productivity to both diagnostic and interventional studies.
LOGIQ e Breakthrough 2009
LOGIQ e Breakthrough 2009 is an exclusive ultrasound technology that simplifies the use of ultrasound and optimization of images and helps clinicians focus less on controls and keyboards, and more on patients and their images. It simplifies the use of ultrasound and optimization of images, helps clinicians focus less on controls and keyboards, and more on patients and their images, streamlines the ultrasound interface onto one screen, for both viewing images and running the controls, decreases the learning curve on the system making training easier and provides a flat, touchscreen surface that is easy to clean and disinfect.
LOGIQ P6
GE will also feature the LOGIQ P6, which combines performance and versatility - enabling clinicians to meet the needs of patients across multiple clinical settings. The system combines premium capabilities in a small footprint, is easy to move and can fit within the smallest exam spaces.
"GE Healthcare's technology leadership and continuous investment in ultrasound enables clinicians to make a real difference in their patients' lives," said Youssef. "By driving innovation, we strive to help more patients around the world by providing portable ultrasound that helps detect diseases earlier, and helps clinicians guide and visualize procedures."
Voluson E8
Also featured at Arab Health is the Voluson E8 with its improved probe imaging capabilities, which enable clinicians to see more anatomical detail. New automation software has been migrated across the women's healthcare ultrasound systems including SonoVCADheart, GE's proprietary technology that streamlines the acquisition of volumetric images of the fetal heart, and SonoAVCfollicle, which delivers an efficient method of calculating the number and volume of ovarian follicles.
These technologies are on display at the GE Healthcare stand (Hall 4 - Stand D20) at the exhibition in the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.
