Dubai, UAE; January 22, 2011: GE Healthcare, the healthcare business of General Electric Company (GE), will leverage its participation at Arab Health 2011, the premier healthcare exhibition in the Middle East, to mark the Middle East launch of advanced healthcare solutions and to underscore its public private partnerships in the region.

GE Healthcare is the Platinum Sponsor of Arab Health, which will be held from January 24 to 27 at the Dubai International Convention Center, and will highlight the company's technological advancements, especially in the field of medical diagnostics, in addition to underscoring its commitment to public private partnerships in the region to enhance the standards of healthcare delivery. GE Healthcare's showcase at Arab Health builds on the company's healthymagination initiative to increase access, improve quality and efficiency and lower costs of healthcare.

Aziz Koleilat, General Manager at GE Healthcare for the Middle East region, said: "The two challenges faced by the healthcare sector of the Arab world are rising healthcare bills and increasing incidence of lifestyle diseases. Our healthymagination initiative is aligned to meet these challenges by emphasizing on an 'earlier model' of healthcare, where through early diagnosis the treatment can be made potentially more effective and cheaper. Enabling this is our array of diagnostic technologies, which are showcased at Arab Health. These will not only enhance operational efficiencies of healthcare centers but also enable physicians to detect diseases early, thus promoting better health."

Among the highlights of GE's technologies at Arab Health is the full spectrum of oncology diagnostic solutions - from systems used in initial diagnosis to treatment planning and monitoring to productivity enhancing IT solutions.

GE's comprehensive product portfolio has been developed over half a century by working closely with mammography customers, with the aim being to deliver high quality, innovative, efficient and patient-friendly breast imaging products. Advanced tools from GE Healthcare include rotational imaging on Innova™ interventional imaging systems and the Advantage Workstation (AW) VolumeShare™.

Also showcased at Arab Health 2011 are GE's comprehensive CT portfolio including the exceptional ASiR™ (adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction) low dose reconstruction technology, available on GE Discovery™ CT750 HD, Optima™ CT660 and BrightSpeed™ Elite. GE's ASiR can reduce dose by up to 40-50 percent while maintaining image quality and can be implemented as a cost-effective upgrade for existing GE LightSpeed™ VCT customers.

GE is demonstrating the newest low-dose technology in the company's CT portfolio -- a model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) technology called Veo™. GE will also feature its recently launched ultrasound system, the LOGIQ™ E9, for radiology and vascular applications that fuses ultrasound images with images from other imaging modalities like CT and MR.

Designed for digital use based on customer input, GE's new X-ray technology, FlashPad™, is another introduction at Arab Health. A flexible, wireless detector that features two handles that make it easier to position and maneuver, the FlashPad equipped with GE's most advanced X-ray detector technology.

The innovative technologies, services and solutions are showcased at GE Healthcare's pavilion at Hall 4 G30.
