GE Global Asset Protection Services Celebrate 100-Year Relationship with P&G

April 13, 2004

AVON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 2004--GE Global Asset Protection Services (GE GAP Services) today announced a significant milestone in the company's history. This month marks the 100th continuous year that GE GAP Services has served as The Procter & Gamble Company's property loss prevention provider.
The announcement was made just prior to the opening of the RIMS 2004 Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Diego.
P&G is highly committed to protecting both its assets and business through a rigorous loss prevention program and cutting-edge business continuity plans.
"We are extremely proud to have been able to service such a prestigious company as P&G for this long," said Dan Eudy, President of GE GAP Services.
"I think the secret to this successful relationship is trust and the desire by both parties to be the best in what they do. P&G has always had a strong commitment to risk management. We look forward to a mutually-advantageous relationship for years to come," continued Eudy.
Some of the benefits GE GAP Services brings to the relationship include:
-- Thorough knowledge of codes and standards -- Staff located throughout the world -- Flexibility in finding solutions that address customer needs -- Above-and-beyond customer service -- Consistency of field staff to ensure industry knowledge -- Recognition of the importance of relationships
Bill Castle, P&G's Global Fire Protection Program Manager and Product Supply leader of the company's Business Continuity Program, works closely with GE GAP Services to uncover any risks and find ways to prevent or mitigate them. P&G's business continuity planning, he said, then completes the job by protecting the company's ability to provide product from alternate sources should a disaster occur at the primary site.
"We take risk management very seriously," said Castle. "We will not tolerate the possibility of losing shelf space because of an incident that we could have protected against. It's not the way we operate."
When asked how he feels about the 100-year anniversary, Castle answered: "It's impressive. When I tell people in other companies that we are celebrating 100 years with the same vendor, they're amazed. There aren't a lot of companies that have been around for a 100 years. To have two that have been around and have worked and collaborated for that amount of time is really something."
GE GAP Services provides unique, cost-effective loss prevention and risk mitigation solutions for brokers, underwriters, and risk managers around the world. It is known as an industry leader for its state-of-the-art technology and online real-time risk management tools.
GE GAP Services is Part of GE's Employers Reinsurance Company (ERC). ERC protects lives, property and reputations. More information is available at www.ercgroup.com.
