New affiliation offers direct access to more than 20 million experts with over 5,000 skills
BOSTON - September 7, 2017 - GENIUSLINK™, GE’s internal resource matching talent to task, today unveiled a partnership with Upwork, the largest freelancing site. The combination of GENIUSLINK and Upwork creates an expert network of millions of independent professionals with in-demand skills spanning from IT and engineering to design and marketing.
GENIUSLINK was launched by GE in 2013 to provide a pool of internal and external talent to GE businesses focused on solving tough business challenges. Since then, the GENIUSLINK model has evolved and now serves customers both internally and externally with a network of more than 20 million experts worldwide.
“Markets today demand a level of speed and sophistication that are increasingly difficult to achieve using traditional approaches,” said Dyan Finkhousen, president and CEO of GENIUSLINK and Director of Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing for GE. “This partnership with Upwork will help our customers get business done faster by providing direct access to their global network of experts, the largest available pool of highly-skilled independent talent.”
The program launches with a rapid collaboration to drive speed and productivity for GE teams and customers by delivering the right talent resources, at the right time, for the right outcomes.
“We’re excited to partner with GENIUSLINK to provide GE with easy, on-demand access to specialized talent that is scalable, compliant and efficient,” said Eric Gilpin, Senior Vice President of Enterprise at Upwork. “Companies are increasingly embracing new business models and technologies in order to move with greater speed and agility.
