Mark VI-ITCC technology to be used for the first time in India
New Delhi, September 13, 2006 - GE Energy's Optimization and Control business has won an order from GAIL (India) Limited to supply GE's Mark VI control systems featuring Integrated Turbine Compressor Control (ITCC) technology for a retrofit project at GAIL's liquefied petroleum gas processing plant in Vijaypur in Madhya Pradesh. This is the first-ever installation of this technology in India.
GE Mark VI ITCC systems will be used to replace the control systems currently operating on a GE Frame 3 gas turbine, which is driving lean gas compressors at the plant. The ITCC incorporates triple modular redundancy and patented advanced control algorithms that provide superior protection against surge, allowing critical compressor trains to boost operational margins while enhancing process reliability.
The scope of GE's contract includes design and engineering, equipment supply, spare parts, training and technical direction for the commissioning of the new control systems. The equipment will be shipped and installed during the fourth quarter of 2006. BHEL-GE Gas Turbine Services (BGGTS), a GE joint venture in India, is responsible for local project management, installation services and customer support.

GAIL (India) Limited was set up by the Government of India in 1984 to create gas sector infrastructure for sustained development of the country's gas market. Today, the company operates 4,600 kilometers of pipelines, seven gas processing facilities and India's largest gas-based petrochemical complex.
