ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2006--GE Energy today announced it has completed its acquisition of Altair Filter Technology Group Limited, a leading global provider of inlet filtration solutions for the power generation, oil and gas and marine industries.
In addition to its headquarters in Alton, United Kingdom, Altair also has operations in Louisville, Kentucky and maintains a global sales force. The company's technology has been installed in more than 2,000 units worldwide.
"This acquisition expands our offerings in the environmental services area," said Dan Heintzelman, president of GE Energy's services business. "Altair's expertise, experience and technology will strengthen our inlet systems and filtration capabilities, enabling us to provide customers with more complete pre-combustion air quality solutions."
GE Energy's current portfolio of environmental services covers a broad range of applications, including gas turbine air filtration, fuel and air monitoring and conditioning, combustion control, post-combustion control and pollutant monitoring and testing.
