Kuala Lumpur, 14 Aug 2012 -- General Electric (GE) celebrated the gift of giving with over 250 GE employees as they distributed food packages for orphanages in Ulu Kelang and Shah Alam on Friday, 10 August. The event was held at GE's aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul centre, General Electric Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM), in Subang.
Guests savoured an array of tantalizing dishes for buka puasa, including traditional Raya food such as dodol, lemang and bubur lambuk.
"At GE, we recognize the importance of giving back to communities and lending a helping hand to those in need. This event, as part of our wider citizenship program, promotes volunteerism and active community engagement during this festive month of Ramadhan." said Suresh Kumar Shunmugam, Managing Director of General Electric Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) and leader of GE Malaysia's Volunteers Network.
"It is truly heartwarming to see GE employees coming together to celebrate the spirit of giving, and playing their part in putting a smile on the faces of so many children." Suresh added.
