GE Commercial Insurance Enlarges E&S Capacity;
Increased Capacity to Write Larger Policy Limits
OVERLAND PARK, Kan.--Feb. 9, 2004--GE Commercial Insurance, a
division of GE's Employers Reinsurance Corporation (ERC) (NYSE:GE)
today announced it has increased its capacity to write Umbrella and
Follow Form Excess coverage underwritten by the Specialty Excess &
Surplus Lines Individual Risk unit. This unit underwrites business
submitted through select wholesale brokers.
The Specialty E&S Individual Risk Unit of GE Commercial Insurance
now has capacity to write Umbrella and Follow Form Excess policy
limits of $5M. This includes lead and excess umbrella layers. The new
limits are available to the broker market on policies written
effective 2/1/04.
We're pleased to offer our partners this increased capacity for
hard-to-place risks, said Brian Evans, Vice President & Underwriting
Manager, Specialty E&S Individual Risk Business at GE Commercial
Insurance. We are committed to fully serving insurance markets we
understand, with an eye to disciplined and selective growth.
We increased our capacity in these lines as a result of feedback
from our customers, said Louis Parker, President & CEO of GE
Commercial Insurance. Customer centricity drives everything we do and
this is another example of our pursuit of unequalled customer
service.
