NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2005--GE Commercial Finance, Commercial & Industrial Finance (CIF) today announced the appointment of Deepak Ghosh as Industry Leader for the chemicals market.

In his new role, Ghosh will be responsible for driving organic growth in chemicals and allied industries, where CIF has successfully invested more than $1 billion through senior debt and structured product transactions. Ghosh will report to Craig Reynolds, Senior Managing Director, CIF.

"Deepak's knowledge of the global chemical industry and extensive merger and acquisition, debt and equity financing experience will be invaluable to our customers," said Reynolds. "As a member of CIF's Industry Leadership Team, Deepak will work in tandem with our global sales force to deliver fast, flexible financing solutions tailored to help our customers address their unique business and industry challenges."

Prior to joining GE, Ghosh was responsible for corporate and investment banking initiatives at Bear Stearns & Co., Citigroup, Inc., and Young & Partners. Ghosh helped found the Global Chemical Investment Banking Team at Bear Stearns & Co, Inc. and was a key member of Citigroup's Industrials and Chemicals Investment Banking Department. In these roles, he has executed more than $7 billion in M&A, debt, equity and structured product transactions. Ghosh began his professional career as a consulting engineer with Parsons Corporation.

Ghosh holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Jadvpur University in India, MS in Environmental Systems Engineering from Clemson University and MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
