NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 2004--GE Commercial Finance, through its Business Credit unit, announced that it has named Joel A. Carlson as vice president of origination for the Pacific Northwest region, including Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington, and Western Canada. Based in Seattle, Mr. Carlson will help manage new business development initiatives including prospecting, sourcing and closing of all asset-based lending transactions between $5 million and $30 million.
With over 20 years of corporate finance experience, Mr. Carlson previously served as vice president and business development officer for CIT Business Credit, where he originated and closed transactions with commitments totaling $345 million. He held an equivalent position with Bank of America Commercial Finance from 1998 to 2000, and earlier served as vice president for both US Bank of Washington (1993-1998) and Bank of America (1985-1992). Mr. Carlson holds a Master of Management degree from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
