DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, November 19, 2013 -- GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, today announced it has signed an agreement to purchase five new ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft.
"We have seen significant market interest in the ATRs as a leasing product and that is why we have added more of them to our portfolio," said Norman C.T. Liu, president and CEO of GECAS. "These aircraft will support the strong growth in regional air transport we anticipate in the coming years."
Delivery of the first aircraft is scheduled for 2015. The order agreement also includes five options.
