MUMBAI, November 15, 2011 -- GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing unit of GE, today delivered a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Jet Airways, India's premier international airline, marking the delivery of the 100th aircraft in Jet Airways' state-of-the-art fleet.
"The delivery of the 100th aircraft to Jet Airways' growing fleet by GECAS is an important milestone in the company's evolution," said Nikos Kardassis, Jet Airways CEO. The aircraft comes from GECAS' existing order book with Boeing and is the second new 737NG GECAS has delivered this year. The aircraft features Boeing's new Sky Interior featuring a new, open design; brighter color scheme; LED lighting; and increased overhead bin storage capacity.
With an average age of 5.6 years, Jet Airways' fleet of aircraft is one of the youngest in the world. Jet Airways is India's largest private airline, flying to 75 domestic and international destinations.
