Kelman Ltd, Part of GE's Energy Services Business, Takes the Aer Lingus Viscount Award for Medium-Sized Company of the Year 2010

LONDON--Monday, March 01, 2010-- Lisburn-based Kelman Limited, GE's (NYSE: GE) monitoring and diagnostics technology specialists, announced today that it received the Company of the Year Award at the Aer Lingus Viscount award ceremony last week in London.

The Company of the Year Award recognizes entrepreneurial small, medium and large companies that excel in all functions of their business. Award winners are selected for significant commitment to products or services that advance the Northern Ireland/Great Britain commercial relationship.

Satisfying the judges' criteria of innovation, overall performance, investment in people and contributions to the Northern Ireland economy, Kelman emerged the winner as the "Company of the Year" in the medium-sized business category.

"We are thrilled to have been recognized as company of the year at such a respected awards forum. This award is a tribute to the hard work and ongoing achievements of our team in Northern Ireland and across the globe," said Eamonn Whelan, general manager---monitoring & diagnostics for GE Energy Services. "We are hugely proud of our business' achievements to date in terms of our ever evolving and always innovative approach to solving our customers' problems. Our workforce here in Northern Ireland is world-class and the recognition validates the contributions of our employees to the community that they live and work in."

Kelman Limited of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, was formed in 1994. In 2003, Kelman developed groundbreaking dissolved gas analysis (DGA) technology, which is the essential test for condition monitoring of electrical transformers. With cutting-edge technology Kelman has revolutionized the DGA practice, releasing both portable and on-line DGA equipment. These products are now in operation with most of the world's largest energy utilities.

GE Energy acquired Kelman Limited in 2008, enhancing GE's smart grid product portfolio. GE's smart grid offerings are designed to help utilities increase productivity and reliability, while also providing consumers with information to better manage their electricity use and expenses. Integrating real-time data and information management systems, grid intelligence solutions help utilities optimize their operations and extend the life of their equipment.
