GE Appoints Two Company Officers

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--Wednesday, February 24, 2010-- GE today announces the appointment of two new company officers. GE currently has 191 GE officers globally, who lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.

Below is the list of GE's two new officers:

Sanjay M. Correa, 53, has been named vice president and general manager of GE's John F. Welch Technology Centre in Bangalore, India. Correa is a 28-year veteran of GE and has held several leadership positions across GE Global Research and GE Technology Infrastructure.

Prior to his current position, Correa was general manager of Engineering Technologies at GE Aviation. Immediately prior, he worked in GE Aviation's Global Supply Chain as general manager of the Fan, Compressor & Combustion Center of Excellence, managing manufacturing plants and engineering teams in the Unites States, Canada, Europe and India. Sanjay previously held a number of technology roles with increasing responsibilities at GE Global Research, including technology leader for the Energy and Propulsion Global Technology Organization.

Correa holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering including a bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctorate from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Russell Stokes, 38, has been named vice president of Global Services for GE Transportation, a business within GE Technology Infrastructure. In this new role, Stokes will continue to strengthen the Transportation services business and drive a balanced focus on core solutions as well growth opportunities.

Prior to his current position, Stokes held several leadership positions throughout GE Aviation. He most recently was the global sourcing manager at GE Aviation in Cincinnati responsible for all procurement activities including $7 billion in Global Direct and Indirect purchases, supplier development, contract negotiations, and material cost productivity, quality and delivery.

Stokes began his GE career at GE Lighting as a member of the Financial Management Program in Cleveland, Ohio. He joined GE Aviation in 2002 as the finance leader for Business Development. In 2003, he became the finance leader for the Customized Service Agreement portfolio for GE Aviation Engine Services and was later promoted to the role of chief risk manager, where he and his team led the underwriting efforts supporting the growth of the Customer Service Agreement backlog from $28 to $38 billion, during his tenure.

Stokes earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from Cleveland State University in 1996.
