FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2005--The Board of Directors of GE has approved the appointment of two new Company Officers.
Gregory Adams, 44, is Vice President, Automotive, GE Advanced Materials, Plastics. Prior to this current role, Adams was Chief Marketing Officer, Advanced Materials. In 2000, he was President, GE Polymershapes. In 1998, Adams was President and CEO, GE Toshiba Silicones, based in Tokyo, Japan. In this role the team built a Manufacturing Facility in Shanghai, China and created a manufacturing joint venture in Thailand. Adams spent nine years in the Asia Pacific group after starting at GE in 1985 in the Americas Resin sales group.
Adams earned his Bachelors Degree in Technology Education from the State University of New York at Oswego.
Vishal Wanchoo, 45, is President and CEO, Healthcare Information Technologies, GE Healthcare, a role he assumed in January 2005. As the leader of this newly created business, Wanchoo and his team are developing a complete clinical information technology application that will enable a digital healthcare community, connecting patients, physician offices, and hospitals. In April 2004, he was named Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Information Technology for GE Healthcare. Wanchoo began his career at GE in November 1997 as the Global General Manager of the Imaging PACS business where grew sales from approximately $40M in 1998 to $500M in 2004.
Wanchoo received his Masters Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California and his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India.
