GE Appoints Two Company Officers

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2005--GE today announces the appointment of two new company officers.

Raymond M. Burse, 54, is Vice President & General Counsel, GE Consumer & Industrial. Burse assumed his current role in January 2004 following the merger of GE Consumer Products and GE Industrial Systems. Prior to that he was General Counsel, GE Consumer Products since 2002. Burse joined GE in 1995 as Senior Counsel. Before joining GE, Burse was a partner at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, Louisville, Kentucky, from July 1989 to August 1995, and President of Kentucky State University from 1982 to 1989. Burse received his J.D. from Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1978 and his B.S. in Chemistry/Mathematics from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, in 1973.

Hiroyuki Mitani, 52, is President & CEO, GE Healthcare Technologies -- Japan, a role he has had since July 2002. Mitani has had a variety of marketing roles in Japan since he started at GE in 1992. Prior to his current role, Mitani was General Manager, Marketing & Sales, for GE Transportation, Japan. In 1996, he served as General Manager, Marketing & Sales, for GE Energy, Japan, and prior to this assignment was GM for its Services business, also in Japan. His first role at GE was as Director, Business Development, GE Japan. Mitani received his M.S. in Operations Research from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California in 1984 and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1977.
