GE Appoints Two Company Officers

March 29, 2006

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 2006--GE today announces the appointment of two new company officers.

Michael C. Hanley, 49, is Vice President, Human Resources, GE International. In this position, he oversees talent development and organizational structure for the Company's operations outside the United States. Prior to this role, he was the Senior HR Manager for GE Europe, Middle East & Africa, a role he began in January 2000. From September 1997 to January 2000, Hanley was the HR Director for GE Plastics, based in Singapore. He was the HR Manager for Manufacturing for GE Plastics from 1993 to 1997. A 24-year GE veteran, Hanley received his Masters in Human Resources in 1984 and his Bachelors' degree in Business Studies, from the National University of Ireland, in 1977.

William D. Strittmatter, 49, is Chief Risk Officer, GE Commercial Finance. He has held this role since August 2002. A 23-year GE veteran, Strittmatter has had a succession of Management and Risk roles with GE Commercial Finance. Prior to this current role, Strittmatter was Managing Director, Global Telecom, Commercial Finance, from 1999 to 2002. Strittmatter was Managing Director of the Commercial & Industrial group for Commercial Finance from 1998 to 1999. From 1990 to 1998, Strittmatter was Managing Director, Portfolio & Risk Management for Commercial Finance's Structured Finance Group. Strittmatter received his Masters' in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1982 and his Bachelors' in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1978.
