FAIRFIELD, Conn.--05 January 2011-- GE today announces the appointment of two new company officers. GE currently has 200 GE officers globally. GE officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.
Below are details on GE's two new officers:
Robert Duffy, 45, has been appointed vice president of Global Business Development in GE's Corporate Business Development group, which is responsible for implementation of GE's corporate acquisition and divestiture strategy across its businesses.
Duffy started his GE career in 2003 as the general manager for Corporate Business Development. Before joining GE, Duffy spent twelve years at Credit Suisse First Boston as a managing director in their mergers and acquisitions group.
Duffy received his law degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., his masters in international economics from the University of Wales in Cardiff, and his bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard College in Cambridge, Mass.
Jean Michel Malbrancq, 54, has been appointed president and CEO of GE Healthcare for Europe. In this new role, he will leverage the product, solution and services portfolio to find new growth opportunities in every country and continue to position GE Healthcare as a strong leader in a critical market for GE Healthcare.
Malbrancq has been with GE Healthcare for 22 years and prior to his current role he was vice president of Sales of GE Healthcare for Western Europe. He has also served as global general manager for X-Ray, European general manager for CT Marketing and Region Sales Manager.
Malbrancq earned his engineering degree from The University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) in Compiègne, France.
