GE Appoints Three Company Officers

FAIRFIELD, Conn., October 15, 2007 -- GE today announces the appointment of three new company officers. GE currently has 206 GE officers globally. GE officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.
Below is the list of GE's three new officers:
Wayne Hewett, 42, was recently named vice president, GE Supply Chain and Operations. Wayne most recently served as the president and CEO of Momentive Performance Materials (formerly GE Advanced Materials) after a 20-year career with GE. He began his career with GE in 1986 as a member of the Manufacturing Management Program. Upon graduation from the program he joined the Corporate Audit Staff and worked his way up to the role of executive audit manager.
In 2000, Wayne was named president & CEO of GE Toshiba Silicones, Tokyo, Japan. In 2001, he was named a GE vice president and promoted to president & CEO of GE Plastics Pacific, located in Shanghai, China. In 2003, he was named president & CEO of GE Silicones and in 2005, CEO of GE Advanced Materials. Following its divesture in 2006, he was named president & CEO of Momentive Performance Materials. Wayne graduated from Stanford University with both a bachelor's and master's degree in industrial engineering.
Mark Norbom, 49, returns to GE as president and CEO, GE Japan and a member of the GE International team. After a 23-year career with GE, Mark joined Prudential Corporation Asia at the end of 2003 as Chief Executive and, most recently, served as President of Cerberus Asia Pacific Advisors. Mark began his career with GE in 1980 through the Financial Management Program and, after various roles in finance and business development in the U.S., moved to Taiwan in 1993 to head GE Capital's efforts in that market.
In 1995, Mark moved to head GE Capital Indonesia and in 1998 to lead GE's efforts in Thailand as president of GE Capital and GE National Executive. In 2000, Mark was promoted to president and CEO of GE Capital Japan and later assumed the role of president and CEO, GE Japan. Mark graduated summa cum laude from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in honors economics.
Dean Seavers, 47, is president and CEO, GE Security, a business of GE Enterprise Solutions within GE Industrial. Prior to joining GE, Dean held several leadership roles in security and operations at Tyco International in Florida. Before joining Tyco more than seven years ago, Dean was the director of operations and planning strategy at Burger King Corporation. Dean earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kent State University in Ohio and a master's degree, also in business administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business in Palo Alto, California.
