FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2006--GE today announces the appointment of six new company officers.
Gregory Burge, 50, is Vice President, Networked Solutions, GE Security. Most recently Burge was General Manager of Security's Networked Solutions business which designs, manufactures and distributes security solutions and information services to the residential, commercial, real estate/automotive and shipping port markets. Burge joined GE in 2002 as part of GE's acquisition of the Interlogix Security business. Before joining GE in 2002, Burge was President of Supra Systems based in Salem, Oregon. Burge received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in 1977.
Deborah Elam, 44, is Vice President & Chief Diversity Officer. Most recently, Elam was GE's Manager of Diversity & Inclusive Leadership. From 2000 to 2002, Elam was Managing Director of Human Resources for Corporate Financial Services within GE Commercial Finance. From 1997 to 2000, Elam was Managing Director of Human Resources for GE Capital Markets Services. She started with GE as a member of the Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP) in 1987. Elam received her Masters' degree in Public Administration from Southern University in 1987 and her Bachelors' degree in Sociology from Louisiana State University in 1984.
Steven Fludder, 45, is Vice President, Sales, for GE Water & Process Technologies. A 22-year GE veteran, Fludder has had a variety of global roles in sales and operations in his career. Most recently, Fludder was CEO of China for GE Energy. From 2002 to 2003, he was the General Manager of Asia for GE's Wind Energy business. Before that, he was General Manager of the Northeast U.S. region for GE's Energy Services business, a role he had from October 1999 to July 2002. Fludder received his Masters' in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988. He received his Bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in New York in 1983 and his Bachelors' degree from Providence College in Rhode Island in 1983.
Daniel C. Janki, 37, is Vice President, Corporate Investor Relations, based at the Company's global headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut. In this role, Janki will lead communications efforts to the company's various investor bases. Most recently, Janki was Chief Financial Officer for the Americas for GE Consumer Finance. From February 2003 to July 2004, Janki was Staff Executive for GE Corporate Finance and he was Chief Financial Officer for GE Equity from January 2001 to 2003. Janki started at GE as a member of the Company's Finance Management Program (FMP) in 1992 and then transitioned to the Corporate Audit Staff. He received his Bachelors' degree in Finance & Accounting from Ohio State University in 1990.
Akihiko (Kiko) Kumagai, 49, is President & CEO, GE Consumer Finance, Japan. In this role, Kumagai will oversee the growth of Consumer Finance in a critical global market and manage the expansion of GE Money, a new consumer-banking brand from GE, in the region. A 22-year GE veteran, Kumagai has had a variety of roles with increasing responsibly within the Commercial function in his career. Most recently he was President & CEO, GE Toshiba Silicones, a component of GE Silicones. Kumagai received his Bachelors' degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1979.
Brian Worrell, 36, is Vice President, Corporate Audit Staff. In this role, Worrell oversees the company's internal Audit organization. Most recently, Worrell has been General Manager, Finance, for GE Oil & Gas. Prior to that, Worrell had a succession of finance roles within GE Healthcare. From 2000 to 2003, Worrell was General Manager of Finance for Healthcare Information Technologies. Worrell started with the Company as a member of the Financial Management Program (FMP) in 1992 and then joined GE's Corporate Audit Staff. Worrell received his Bachelors in Economics from the University of North Carolina in 1992.
