FAIRFIELD, Conn.--Tuesday, September 29, 2009-- GE today announces the appointment of one new company officer. GE currently has 188 GE officers globally. GE officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.
Below are details on GE's new officer:
Ralph Kirkpatrick, 56, was recently appointed vice president and chief engineer for GE Energy Infrastructure.
In this leadership role, Kirkpatrick will be responsible for product safety engineering, fleet and systems reliability engineering, design processes and practices, and GE Energy Infrastructure's technical career path and controlled title engineers.
Prior to joining GE, Kirkpatrick was the executive vice president, operations for Rolls Royce Energy Systems, where he was responsible for global operations in manufacturing, purchasing, logistics, engineering, quality and IT in Ohio, Canada and the UK.
He is also a 20-year veteran of GE Aviation where he grew his technical knowledge and leadership through positions in engine design, combustion and configuration and product quality.
Kirkpatrick graduated from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
