GE Appoints Mark Elborne as UK National Executive

London 30 April 09 -- GE has appointed Mark Elborne as the new National Executive for Northern Europe covering the UK, Ireland and the Benelux countries.

Mark, a GE Officer, previously held the position of Vice President and General Counsel, Europe and European Regulatory Affairs, GE International, based in Brussels. Here he was responsible for leading the legal and compliance functions and regulatory affairs in Europe.

Mark joined GE in March 2004 as EVP and General Counsel of GE Insurance Solutions (ERC) based in Kansas City, MO. Prior to joining GE, Mark was a senior partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance group at CMS Cameron McKenna in London.

Educated at Eton College, Mark graduated with Honours from Exeter University and attended the College of Law in London before qualifying as a solicitor at Hewitt, Woollacott and Chown a predecessor firm of Cameron McKenna. He is married with five children and lives in the UK.

Commenting on his new post Mark said: "I am delighted to take up this role and represent GE in our largest market outside the US, both in terms of employees and revenues. As National Executive I want to help GE realise the growth opportunities which exist in the UK and ensure that we commit the necessary future investment in this critically important market."

Mark Elborne has replaced Clara Gaymard Regional Executive for North Western Europe who has been promoted to lead GE's government relations' activities, across nine key markets around the world.
