FAIRFIELD, Conn.--11 August 2008-- GE today announces the appointment of four new company officers. GE currently has 193 GE officers globally. GE officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.
Below is the list of GE's four new officers:
Charles P.Blankenship Jr. 42, was recently named GE's new vice president and general manager of Commercial Engines at GE Aviation. Blankenship has been with GE for 16 years and was formerly the general manager of GE Energy's Aeroderivative Gas Turbine business. Blankenship held several other leadership positions including general manager of Small Commercial Engines, general manager of Services Engineering, and manager Embraer CF34 programs, all at GE Aviation. He began his GE career at the Global Research Center as a staff scientist. He obtained his bachelors degree in materials science and engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1988 and his doctorate in materials science and engineering from the University of Virginia in 1992.
Gregory D. Capito, 53, is vice president of human resources at GE Consumer and Industrial and has been with GE for 26 years. Prior to his current role, Capito was manger of global labor relations, manager of human resources at GE Transportation, manager of executive development, manager of human resources in Asia for GE Consumer and Industrial and manager of human resources at Consumer Service for GE Consumer and Industrial. He graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1977 with a bachelors degree in psychology and from the University of Vermont in 1979 with a masters degree in human resources.
Frederic Ribieras, 43, is vice president and chief financial officer of GE Oil and Gas and has been with GE for 18 years. He moved to his current position in 2006 and prior to this held several leadership roles in a variety of GE businesses including FP&A and CFO Services with GE Aviation, Commercial Finance manager with GE Energy, FP&A analyst at GE Corporate and multiple assignments with GE Healthcare where he first joined GE through their Financial Management Program. Ribieras received his masters degree in finance and international business from the University of Hartford in 1987.
Steven Sargent, 47, is GE's chief executive officer of GE Australia and New Zealand (A&NZ) since 2005. Additionally, Sargent holds the role of president and chief executive officer of GE Commercial Finance - A&NZ. In his 15 years with GE, Sargent has held several leadership roles including, president and CEO of GE Commercial Finance A&NZ, president and CEO of European Equipment Finance and chief quality officer at GE Capital. Sargent obtained is bachelors degree in accounting from Charles Sturt University, Australia in 1989.
