FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2006--GE today announces the appointment of four new company officers.
Michael J. Kalmes, 54, is Vice President, Sales, Energy Services for GE Infrastructure. Prior to this role, he was the General Manager for Contractual Services in Energy, a role he began in February 1998. From October 1981 to February 1998, Kalmes was the Vice President of Long Term Services for Stewart & Stevenson, which was acquired by GE in February 1998. Kalmes received his Bachelors' degree in Molecular Cellular & Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado in 1976.
Stewart B. Koenigsberg, 46, is Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Real Estate for GE Commercial Finance. He has been in this role since June 2001. Immediately preceding his joining Real Estate, he was Executive Managing Director, Originations, GE Capital Markets. Koenigsberg joined GE in 1989, and has held assignment as Chief Investment Officer in GE Mortgage, as well as other financial services business roles. A 16-year GE veteran, he received his Bachelors' degree in Economics and Accounting from C.U.N.Y. Brooklyn College in 1981.
Heiner Markhoff, 43, is Vice President, Plastics, Europe, GE Industrial. Prior to this role, he was the Chief Executive Officer for GE Bayer Silicones in Germany, a role he began in April 2002. From August 2000 to April 2002, Markhoff was the General Manager for Automotive in GE - Plastics Americas. Markhoff began with the company in 1994 as Manager for Corporate Business Development. Markhoff studied Economics at the University of Muenster in Germany and received his degree in Business Administration from University of Koeln in Germany in 1990.
Keith W. Newman, 47, is Vice President & General Counsel, GE Consumer Finance. Prior to this role, he was the General Counsel, GE Industrial, Plastics a role he began in November 2002. From February 2001 to November 2002, Newman was the General Counsel of GE Lighting. He started with the Company in 1996 as Transactions & Finance Counsel for GE Corporate. Newman received his Juris Doctor and Masters' degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas in 1986 and a Bachelors' degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University in 1981.
