GE Appoints Four Company Officers

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 2004--GE today announced the appointment of four new company officers.

Tim O'Brien, 40, is Vice President, Plastics, Americas at GE Advanced Materials. In this role, he is responsible for sales, application development and supply chain activities for the business's family of engineering thermoplastics throughout the Americas.

Previously, he served as General Manager for the High Performance Polymer and Crystalline Polymer Products Global Product Company; which includes Valox and Xenoy resins. O'Brien earned his Master's Degree in Business from Baldwin Wallace College in 1992 and his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Northeastern University in 1986. Luciano J. Cerone, 46, is Vice President, Energy Technology, at GE Energy. In this role, he is charged with overseeing the development of Energy's next generation turbine technologies.

Prior to this, he served as General Manager, Power Systems' Gas Turbine Technology at GE Energy, beginning in 2003. Before that, Cerone had a succession of engineering roles within GE Energy. He received his Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in 1981. Cerone began his GE career in 1981.

Chi H. Choi, 46, is Vice President, Energy Services Sales, GE Energy. He was previously General Manager, Energy Services Sales, GE Energy. Prior to that, he was Region Executive, Asia for GE Energy. In 1988, Choi began a succession of sales roles within GE Transportation, before moving over to GE Energy in 1998. Choi received his Masters Degree in finance/banking from George Washington University in 1981 and his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Tufts University in 1979.

Choi is the first person of Korean descent to be appointed a company officer at GE.

Michael B. Petras Jr., 37, is Vice President, Commercial & Industrial Sales, at GE Consumer & Industrial. Prior to that, he was General Manager of Lighting Commercial & Industrial Sales & Marketing.

From 1999 to 2002, Petras served as President & CEO of GELcore, a GE LED (light-emitting diodes) joint venture. He began his career at GE in 1992 in the lighting business and has experience in global product management, marketing and as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt for Commercial Quality. Petras received his Master's Degree in Marketing from Case Western Reserve University in 1992 and his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from John Carroll University in 1989.
