TOKYO & FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2002--General Electric today announced the following personnel moves affecting four key business leaders in its Japan operation.
Effective September 1, Nobuhiko Ito, 55, will assume the position as President, CEO and Representative Director of GE Edison Life. Ito will be elected to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the company at the upcoming Shareholder's meeting on July 19. Nobuhiko Ito has been president of GE Yokogawa Medical Systems Ltd. since 1999.
Ito will succeed K. Rone Baldwin who will be returning to the United States to become the Senior Vice President, Strategic Development at GE Financial, GE Edison's parent company. Mr. Baldwin has been the business leader for GE Edison Life for the past four years.
Hiroyuki Mitani, 49, has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of GE Yokogawa Medical Systems, succeeding Ito, effective July 19. He was President & General Manager of GE Aircraft Engines Northern Pacific Company.
Kenji Uenishi, 48, will become the President & General Manager of GE Aircraft Engines Northern Pacific Company, succeeding Mitani, effective July 19. He has been involved in the aircraft engine business for 15 years since joining GE in 1987.
