Riyadh, KSA, July 10, 2002 ---- GE Saudi Arabia played host to Ferdinando "Nani" Beccalli, President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Europe, Middle East and Africa last week, where Beccalli had several meetings with key customers of the eight GE businesses present in the Kingdom.
Beccalli's visit to the Saudi market was the first for the new CEO, based in Brussels, Belgium who was appointed early this year. Beccalli's agenda focused on relationship building with GE customers and the GE businesses operating in Saudi Arabia.
"I am truly delighted to be visiting Saudi Arabia - a very important market for GE. There's huge potential for business development in this region and we are taking advantage of opportunities to expand our customer base, with innovative ways to serve them better. This is all part of our bigger plan to expand in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region," said Beccalli.
Beccalli also attended a special customer event to meet with key customers of the various GE businesses. The high-profile event, attended by over 100 guests including the U.S. and Italian Ambassadors to Saudi Arabia, provided an ideal platform for Beccalli to further strengthen relations with customers.
"Nani Beccalli's visit to Saudi Arabia is one of tremendous value to us. We were honoured to have him with us, and it was a good opportunity for him to see first -hand the calibre of our businesses in this region. We are confident his meetings with customers and dignitaries in the region have enhanced our relations," said Abdullah Taibah, GE National Executive, Saudi Arabia.
In addition, the customer meet served as an excellent opportunity for GE's businesses to gain valuable feedback from some of their long-standing customers and distributors. Among the key customers whose representatives met with Beccalli were Saudi Electric Company, ARAMCO, ExxonMobil, Philips and Al Zamil.
"My meetings with customers and businesses have been fruitful, and especially valuable was the feedback I received from both. This will definitely help us develop new strategies and enhance our customer and government relations," added Beccalli.
