Asiana Airlines Extends Service Agreement With
GE On Wing Support Korea
    SINGAPORE--March 1, 2002--Asiana Airlines, Inc. has agreed to
extend its service agreement with GE On Wing Support Korea, a
subsidiary of GE Engine Services. The contract extension covers
calendar years 2002 through 2005 with a potential value of over $6
million.
    Under the original agreement, signed in February 2000, GE On Wing
Support Korea was created to perform engine module and Auxiliary Power
Unit (APU) maintenance for Asiana's GE CF6-80C2 and CFM56-3 engines.
Major workscopes that will be performed include compressor top and
bottom case repair, module replacement, QEC build and SB/AD
modifications and upgrades.
     We are extremely pleased to extend our successful relationship
with Asiana, said George Oliver, president and chief executive
officer, GE Engine Services. Since opening the facility two years
ago, GE has made significant capital investments to enhance Asiana's
maintenance facility, and further improve Asiana's already excellent
reliability.
    Based at Asiana's facility at Kimpo Airport facility in Seoul,
South Korea, GE On Wing Support Korea provides quick and efficient on
wing engine maintenance and repair by dispatching rapid response teams
to airline customers at any location in the world, 24 hours a day, 365
days a year.
    Approved as a Tax-Free Engine Service Shop in South Korea, GE On
Wing Support Korea is scheduled to receive FAA repair station
certification in the first quarter of this year.
