7 September 2004 - GE Establishes its' Water & Process Technologies Division with the Integration of GE Betz, GE Osmonics and GE Glegg

GE, a diversified technology, media and financial services company and a leader in the $345.1 billion water treatment industry¹ announces the formation of GE Infrastructure Water & Process Technologies, a platform comprised of GE Betz, GE Osmonics and GE Glegg. The resulting company's capabilities provide a comprehensive selection of customized solutions and products available for the treatment of water, wastewater and process systems in industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.

"We integrated these three companies to establish a single, strong face to the industry and our customers. This is a service intense industry and we started the integration with the delivery of our products and services," explains George Oliver, CEO and President of Water & Process Technologies. "For example, we liked the Betz service model for delivering customer care, which places experts at customer sites. We now have more than 2200 people in the field around the world. John van Osch, General Manager Water & Process Technologies clarifies: " GE has on-site experts dedicated to solve problems, develop production solutions and help improve customers' profitability in Europe, Middle-East and Africa. GE is committed to helping our customers become more profitable with local teams in Scandinavia to the former Russian states, in Western Europe to the Middle-East and also in African countries".

GE reaffirmed its commitment to Water & Process Technologies in 2004 by integrating it into GE Infrastructure, one of the company's growth businesses.

"The Water & Process Technologies division in South Africa, which is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and is active in many African countries, including South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique, Equatorial Guinea and Mali, is currently exhibiting at the Electramining industrial and mining exhibition at Nasrec in Johannesburg, from 6 - 10 September 2004," comments Greg Crouse, managing director of the Water & Process Technologies division in South Africa.

Here, the Water & Process Technologies division will be exhibiting and discussing its wide portfolio of water, wastewater and process systems solutions aimed at a broad spectrum of industries including mining.
