Integer (data type)

Syntax Integer
Description A data type used to declare whole numbers with up to four digits of precision.
Comments Integer variables are used to hold numbers within the following range:
  –32768 <= integer <= 32767
Internally, integers are 2-byte short values. Thus, when appearing within a structure, integers require 2 bytes of storage. When used with binary or random files, 2 bytes of storage are required. When passed to external routines, Integer values are sign-extended to the size of an integer on that platform (either 16 or 32 bits) before pushing onto the stack. The type-declaration character for Integer is % .
