The LEAP engine, the high-bypass turbofan produced by CFM International, the 50-50 joint company between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines, has built a reputation as a leader in efficiency and asset utilization. In airline service, it is demonstrating better durability in neutral environments than the previous-generation CFM56 product line at the same point in that engine’s life.
Moving deep inside the bowels of a jet engine — negotiating baroque curves and tricky surfaces — GE Aerospace Research’s new Sensiworm looks less like a complex triumph of engineering than something eerily close to a living organism. This is not a coincidence.
- System employs unique technical approach that brings together GE’s core competencies in heat exchangers, thermal management, and innovative materials
- The Direct Air Capture (DAC) system is part of a much larger effort led by GE’s CAGE (Climate Action@GE) Lab in Niskayuna, NY, to deliver cutting-edge solutions in CO2 capture
- GE’s CAGE Lab involves a carbon capture team of 50+ scientists and engineers, working with the U.S.

Engineers at GE’s John F Welch Technology Centre in Bengaluru have developed an inhouse tool to help hiring managers write more inclusive job descriptions. Called the JD Decoder, the tool has been under testing for over two years now.
“We have decided to open the tool up to all our hiring managers and talent acquisition teams in South Asia,” said Sukla Chandra, I&D Council leader, GE South Asia. “This is another step forward in our inclusion journey,” Chandra added.
