On January 4, 2023, GE Healthcare is expected to become a standalone, publicly traded company. The spin is a significant milestone in GE Healthcare’s journey and a catalyst moment that will have a positive impact for patients and customers.
We spoke with Elie Chaillot, President & CEO of GE Healthcare’s Intercontinental region about improving access and efficiency in healthcare, collaboration, precision care and what the spin really means for customers.
Thailand, like any other ASEAN nations, stands at an important crossroad in its energy verse. Having announced its goals to hit carbon neutrality by 2050, and net-zero before 2065, Thailand is committed on its journey of transitioning toward a cleaner and greener future of energy. This includes the adoption of alternative energy such as solar, wind and hydropower, the latter being the biggest source of renewable energy in the country.
GE Healthcare has launched a new and improved e-commerce platform providing greater access to quality healthcare to markets across the Asia Pacific region. The platform, which previously functioned as individual e-commerce sites for Australia, New Zealand and Korea, has now been upgraded and integrated to become a full-service platform serving seven countries across the Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
Everyone has a role to play in building a gender balanced world. Numerous studies show that greater participation by women is essential to achieving stronger democracies, more prosperous economies and fairer societies, benefitting society as a whole.
The window of opportunity to address climate change is narrowing rapidly. This is highlighted in the latest report released by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This code red for climate has driven leaders around the world to ramp up their actions in tackling carbon emissions, reducing their reliance on fossil fuels while striving to find renewable alternatives.

Celebrating the Past, Looking to the Future
Nearly 41 percent of global carbon dioxide emissions today are due to the energy sector. As 1 billion people around the world still lack access to reliable energy, demand for electricity is expected to continue to grow, including here in the Asia Pacific region, where population and rapid urbanization is feeding energy hunger.

Efficient, reliable engineering is essential for a company with a reputation built on quality. That is why lean principles that focus on waste reduction and optimised operations provide such an important cornerstone of modern GE operations around the world.
Lean management isn’t a system of improvement built on defined rules, it’s one that is underlined by culture, and championed by leaders like Fitri Afriyanti, of PT GENTS, Indonesia.
Fitri joined GE as an engineer in 2016, going on to become a continuous improvement lead in 2018, with a role focused on assessing and introducing successful improvement processes. In 2020 all that hard work was rewarded with Fitri stepping up to become Site Lean Leader in PT GENTS.
