GE Interlogix Announces New Leaders for Global Marketing and Its Access and Integration Division; Executive TeamExpansion Supports Company's Aggressive Growth Strategy

AUSTIN, Texas & BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 2003--GE Interlogix, Inc., a leading provider of communication and information technologies for security, safety and lifestyle enhancements, today announced the appointment of Juan Cabezas as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategic Alliances.

Cabezas previously served as President of the company's Access and Integration Business Group (formerly known as CASI-RUSCO) and will be succeeded in that position by Steve Walin, formerly Senior Vice President - North American Security for Siemens Building Technologies.

Both positions report to GE Interlogix President and CEO Ken Boyda. Innovation and growth require strong leaders with vision and proven track records, Boyda said. Juan and Steve have demonstrated the skills, insight and dedication necessary to extend GE Interlogix's leadership in the security industry.

In his new role, Cabezas will be responsible for defining growth strategies as the company focuses on expanding markets, building strategic alliances with other global companies, business development and integrated marketing. He will be based in Austin, Texas.

Cabezas spent nearly 20 years of his business career with IBM, including the last two as Vice President of Business Development for Tivoli Systems. He served as General Manager of Software and Vice President of Corporate Development with Reciprocal, an early stage e-business and software development company, before joining GE Interlogix in June 2002.


He holds a BSEE degree from Northwestern University, and MBA and MSIE degrees from the University of Miami.

As President of the Access and Integration Business Group, Walin will be responsible for leading the development and marketing of enterprise security platforms, including solutions for the integration of physical and data security.

He will be based in Boca Raton, Fla. A 12-year veteran of CASI-RUSCO, Walin held assignments of increasing levels of responsibility advancing to Vice President of Sales.

Subsequently, he served as President and COO of Security Technologies Group (STG) which was acquired by Siemens Building Technologies. Walin holds a BA degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston.
